Why are cloud tablets so important to small business?

In small business, using cloud solutions and cloud computing can have an immediate impact. This can be on money, time and skill. Small businesses need to see past the obvious gains possible of using cloud tablets, and look more internally.

Cloud Tablets are not a trend

Ok, so these next-gen devices are not a negative trend, per se, but are a trend. Sound better? Cloud tablets are creating an opportunity for small business to use cheaper methods of application and work.

Cloud tablets are also dropping in price for older generations. I'm not saying going cheap is the best way to go with your entrance into the cloud. What I am saying is that the price to entry is dropping.

Where is the opportunity here? Why should small businesses embrace cloud computing?

  • Less on-site IT problems
  • Mobility increases
  • Centralized software means easier upgrades/changes
  • Centralized hardware means less networking, storage and processing problems
  • Usually, cheaper long-term costs

Because of this, small business should find using cloud solutions as the perfect method of finding cost-effective productivity.

Why are small businesses reluctant to adopt the cloud?

Most small businesses who are reluctant to adopt cloud-based solutions, specifically those that can make use of cloud devices, have some solid reservations. Namely, these can have an impact on their customers and clients, and could also be catastrophic to their business. What are these problems?

  • Security
  • Knowledge
  • Customers/Clients Usage
  • Time involved

These are all valid reasons. However, they shouldn't prevent small businesses from entry into using the cloud and cloud devices in their operations. Wikipedia has a page covering the biggest issue, security. As well as some methods that cloud computing service providers are handling these issues.
